Terms of service

These terms apply to merchants who install Mint Bookings ("the app"), made by Mint Labs ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

The service

The app lets you sell appointments, classes and day rentals as products on your Shopify store: it shows a booking calendar on product pages, holds the time a customer picks while they check out, adds a checkout rule that stops bookable products being bought without a reserved time, turns orders into bookings, and (on Pro) emails customers about their booking. We may improve or change features; we will not remove a paid feature you rely on without notice.

Your bookings

You set what can be booked, when, and how many places are available, and you are responsible for providing what your customers book and for your own cancellation and refund terms. The app records bookings and prevents a time from being sold beyond the capacity you set, but you should review orders it flags as needing a time (for example orders created outside the storefront calendar) and resolve them with your customer. Cancelling a booking in the app does not refund the order; refunds are made in Shopify.

Billing

Plans are billed by Shopify every 30 days in USD after the free trial. You can cancel at any time by changing plans or uninstalling the app. Charges are handled entirely by Shopify under Shopify's terms.

Availability and liability

We work to keep the app available, accurate and secure, but it is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid for the app in the 3 months before a claim.

Data processing addendum

When the app processes personal data of your customers on your behalf, you are the controller and we are the processor. We will:

  • process personal data only to provide the app's features, following your instructions given through the app's settings;
  • process only the minimum data needed: bookings are stored with Shopify IDs (order, line item, customer, product) and the booked time; customers' names and email addresses are fetched from Shopify to show them to you and, on Pro, to send the booking emails you have switched on, and are never stored;
  • never sell personal data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models;
  • keep it confidential and limit access to authorised personnel;
  • encrypt it in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (Cloudflare D1 encryption at rest);
  • use Cloudflare (hosting, database and email sending) and Shopify as our only sub-processors;
  • keep bookings while the app is installed, delete a customer's bookings when Shopify sends an erasure request, and delete all shop data after uninstall (shop redaction);
  • help you respond to data subject requests (the app lets you download a customer's bookings) and notify you without undue delay of any personal data breach.

Changes

We will post changes to these terms here and update the date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
